Hi! I'm Misty Choate.
Mother, wife, world traveler, crafter, artist, designer, and all around creative person.
As a child I was constantly creating.
I loved to draw, paint, and create all day long. As I look back on my
childhood I realize I was a designer even back then.
I have worked in the graphic design
field for nearly 20 years. Now after
receiving my Bachelors degree (2010)
I find inspiration everywhere.
My favorite projects are ones that I can create from scratch. I love to draw, sketch, visualize the project in my mind before opening adobe and creating the actual project. Story boarding and a lot of research go into my designs. The goal for my art is to be different, but trendy, creative but likable. pushing the boundaries, while making the client happy.
MY STRENGTHS
While working on my bachelors degree I was lucky enough to work for a scrapbook company for 6+ years. There I developed my skills in illustration and pattern design. I love the creative process in creating these designs.
Over 14 years experience in creating artwork for the manufacturing of products. This type of design requires a lot of detail, measurements and information on the artwork to explain the design.
My experience in designing book covers and logos for many different clients has taught me a lot. Combining my ideas with the clients needs can be challenging, but is such a fantastic way to challenge my creativity.
My experience working in pre-press as well as designing catalogs and other printed items for different clients, has helped me develope extensive knowledge in working with off-set and digital printing companies.
